After three years, Season 2 of the Netflix show "Bloodhounds" is finally back, giving fans a deeper look at the characters' relationships and more high-stakes action. The main events of this season are the introduction of a strong new bad guy named Jung Ji-hoon and the changing relationship between the main characters, Gun-woo (played by Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (played by Lee Sang-yi). They call their relationship "bromelo," which means it's deeper than a normal bromance. The show is set in a global illegal boxing league, which presents a lot of problems for the characters after they beat a vicious group of illegal loan sharks in the first season.
A press conference was held on the 31st at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel. Director Kim Joo-hwan and important cast members, such as Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi, and Jung Ji-hoon, talked about the new season. When Woo Do-hwan came back to the role after a three-year break, he said that he put on about 13 kg to physically reflect how his character changed. He said that putting on weight for the role seemed easier than other ways of getting ready, stressing how important it is to exercise regularly. He is committed to playing his character honestly because he feels responsible for them, and he thinks that developing the physical side of a character is easier than getting into the complicated issues that drive them.
To show how three years have passed in the story, Woo said he wanted to show a change in his character from Season 1's youthful exuberance as a newcomer to Season 2's more mature personality, emphasizing personal growth and closer ties with Woo-jin. The goal of this development is to strike a chord with the audience by showing how things change over time.
Season 2 of the Netflix series Bloodounds premieres on April 3, 2026.
