On January 1, 143 Entertainment, led by general producer DM (Lee Yong-hak), announced an exclusive contract with iKON. Bobby, Kim Jin-hwan, Song Yun-hyeong, Kim Dong-hyuk, Koo Jun-hoe, and Jung Chan-woo all signed a collective contract with the company and emphasized "one team."
"We worked together with the members under the premise of never breaking activities as a full group, and we communicated with 143 Entertainment, a DM producer who has had musical compassion for a long time," iKON said.
Even if members transfer to another agency, the original agency usually retains the team name trademark.
However, even before the agency, iKON continued to use the group name.
iKON made their debut in 2015 with "Sniping Your Taste." The second regular album, "Return," released in 2018, was particularly well received. The title song, "Love Scenario," started a trend by topping the daily and monthly charts for 40 days in a row. He even won the Golden Disk Awards the following year. Following the departure of leader B.I. in 2019, the group was reorganized into a 6-member group.
Meanwhile, 143 Entertainment is home to the three-member girl group "Limelight" (Suhye, Miyu, and Gaeun) as well as Mashiro and Kang Ye-seo, who perform as Kepler. The lineup was expanded with the addition of iKON.
