NCT Mark leaves both NCT and SM Entertainment

Mark of NCT has officially terminated his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment, leading to his departure from both NCT 127 and NCT Dream. The announcement was made by SM Entertainment on April 3rd, explaining that after extensive discussions about Mark's future direction, they agreed to finalize his contract as of April 8. Mark, who debuted with NCT in 2016, has been a significant figure within the groups, contributing notably to their success. His solo debut occurred last April with the album "The Firstfruit," showcasing his talents beyond group activities.

In a heartfelt handwritten letter shared on Instagram, Mark reflected on his decade-long journey with NCT. He expressed gratitude to his fans, the Czennies, for their unwavering support throughout the years. Mark revealed his aspirations, stating that he has always dreamed of busking and writing, and indicated a desire for changes in his future activities. He articulated a newfound goal to deeply explore his dreams and life’s purpose, marking this transition as a pivotal point in his career. He thanked his fellow NCT members for their continuous support, emphasizing the strong bond they share.

With Mark’s departure, NCT 127 will move forward as a seven-member group, while NCT Dream continues with six members, adapting to this significant change within their lineup.
