BTS has achieved a significant milestone by topping the US Billboard singles chart 'Hot 100' with the title track 'SWIM' from their fifth album 'ARIRANG.' This victory marks their seventh time reaching this chart, further cementing their status in the music industry. Billboard's announcement on the 30th (local time) highlighted that 'SWIM' surpassed competing tracks like Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' and Olivia Dean's 'Man I Need.'
BTS has a remarkable history on the 'Hot 100', having previously secured the top spot with hits such as "Dynamite," "Savage Love," "Life Goes On," "Butter," "Permission To Dance," and "My Universe." Since their debut on the chart, they have held the number one position for notable spans, including a record ten weeks with "Butter" in 2021. Their consistent success places them among an elite group of artists, being the fifth group to achieve this feat since the chart's inception in August 1958. They follow legendary acts like The Beatles, The Supremes, The Bee Gees, and The Rolling Stones in terms of the number of times at the top of the 'Hot 100.' Furthermore, Billboard also pointed out that 'SWIM' is a historic first, marking the debut of a song with 'Swim' in the title to reach number one on this prestigious chart.
