According to the Circle Chart (formerly Gaon Chart), physical album sales based on the top 400 sales were 74,195,554 copies on the 24th, from the first week to the 50th week of 2022 (December 10th). It increased by 29.9% over last year's sales (57,089,160 copies).

Following a sales increase of 24.59 million copies in 2019, 41.7 million copies in 2020, and 57.08 million copies in 2021, the top 400 album sales are on the rise.

Despite focusing on the members' individual activities rather than group activities this year, BTS sold 6.07 million albums and surpassed the top of total combined album sales.

Stray Kids came in second with 5.83 million copies sold, and Seventeen came in third with 5.46 million copies sold.

This year's significant increase in physical album sales can be attributed to the girl group's growing global fandom.

Although male singers' albums sold more, female singers' album sales increased significantly, driving overall sales growth.

In fact, female singers accounted for 32.6% of total album sales this year, up 16.5% from last.
Girl group BLACKPINK sold 2.82 million copies, ranking fifth in total album sales and first among female singers.
IVE sold 2.6 million copies, ranking second among female singers, and Red Velvet ranked third with 2.12 million copies.
